Born in Patos de Minas and a long-time resident of Brasília, Dr. Porto has built a global reputation as a pioneer in aesthetic procedures and reconstructive surgery. His journey in the field began with a medical degree from the Federal University of Goiás and an impressive internship at the Public Servants’ Hospital of São Paulo in 1985. He completed his specialization in general and digestive system surgery at the prestigious Armed Forces Hospital in Brasília in 1988.
Dr. Porto’s relentless pursuit of excellence took him across the world. He gained invaluable training at the French Hand Institute and the renowned liposuction clinic of Dr. Yves Gerard-Illouz in Paris, followed by further training at top plastic surgery centers in Italy and Switzerland. However, it was his time under the tutelage of the legendary Professor Ivo Pitanguy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro that truly shaped his career. Ranking first among his peers, Dr. Porto became the chief resident at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia, where he played a vital role in surgeries and scientific research alongside Dr. Pitanguy.
Returning to Brasília in 1992, Dr. Porto founded the Múcio Porto Clinic, which quickly became one of the top destinations for patients seeking aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Brazil and internationally. His clinic, located in the prestigious Lago Sul neighborhood, has treated over 11,000 patients and established itself as a leader in the field, known for offering the latest procedures in aesthetic medicine while maintaining a patient-first philosophy.
Dr. Porto’s achievements have been widely recognized. In 2004, he was included in the prestigious “Who’s Who in the World” publication by The Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board in the United States. In 2008, he earned a Master’s degree in Aging Studies from the Catholic University of Brasília, passing with distinction. His influence expanded globally when, in 2013, he became the only Brazilian professor at the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, responsible for training doctors in major cities such as London, Las Vegas, Singapore, and Dubai.
His international influence continued to grow. In 2015, he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from Emil Brunner University in Miami, USA, and the Medaille de Reconnaissance from the Humanist Institute of France. In 2016, the Dubai Health Authority approved him as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, where he began working at AIG Clinics in Dubai’s affluent Jumeira neighborhood.
Dr. Porto’s expertise has been recognized as one of the “Ultimate 100 Global Aesthetic Leaders” in 2017 and 2018 by My Face My Body, a London-based agency. Today, he operates popular clinics in Brasília and Dubai, while teaching plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures to doctors worldwide through his “Porto i-Cademy.”
